Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Diagnosis of Lymphoma from abdominal fluid sample?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hi again, I'm really hoping someone can help me out and give me some
advice. Moki is going downhill quick! Yesterday he ate a small amount
(2-3 spoonfuls of ground kibble and turkey baby food) every 3 hours and
had 5 ounces of water added to this mix plus 10cc or so every 3 hours.
I saw him drink on his own a couple of times but only a few drinks. As
of his early morning feeding he started rejecting his food
vehemenently. While he was sitting on the floor I gently pulled his
scruff back and put the spoon in front of his mouth which usually
causes him to lick and eat on his own. He took a few bites and then
started heaving. It passed and I held him to drop a few drops of water
in his mouth. It almost seems like it is painful for him to swallow.
After only 1 dropper full of water he started heaving again and threw
up the water. His Dr. is on call but I haven't been able to reach him
yet. I think I'm going to stop the lasix as this doesn't seem to be
doing much to help him eliminate his fluid. Shouldn't he be drained
first anyway? He is urinating less instead of more like with a
diaretic. Is his Prednisone dose okay? I expected this to increase
his appetite and make him feel better pretty quickly (yes I realize
this effect typically only last a few weeks at best) He has had 5 doses
now and only seems to be getting worse quick.
