Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: posted pics of before-after melatonin implant
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

A member who off list discussed the two ways that melatonin can cause fur g=
rowth with
me asked that I include some clarification:

Many times people assume because fur was regrown after using melatonin that=
the
adrenal=20
tumor is also responding, but since melatonin has TWO ways that it can star=
t up fur
growth (the one in the article which doesn't do a thing to help adrenal tum=
ors) and the
adrenal hormonal effect (which does help the adrenals) people need to know =
that level of
fur regrowth can't be assumed to translate to a similar level of help for t=
he adrenal.

Meltonin implants are good. Lupron depot is better. Those two should be =
used together
because they compliment each other.=20

In current studies deslorlin/Suprelorin appears possibly better than Lupron=
depot and=20
much cheaper, too. I am really, really hoping that it gets approved for wi=
de clinical use
here in the U.S. soon. Right now it is okayed here only for some experimen=
ts.

I do NOT know if anyone has done experiments with deslorelin and melatonin =
used
together but hope that is safe and even better.

When hyperplasia is present Lupron can actually shrink the adrenal tumor an=
d it may help
slow more serious growths. The best that melatonin does is that it slows a=
nd maybe on
occasion slightly shrinks hyperplasia.

Melatonin is a LOT better than nothing, but it is not the optimal approach,=
especially if
used alone.
