Jerry Murray, DVM I thank you for your helpful information. But to offer more detail let me explain the history. Bucky (a four-five year old, started loosing his hair around the neck and back. I thought he might be scratching it off so I went to the Vet for some skin ointment. They couldn't prescribe without seeing him. So taking him down for an exam, I was told he might have a tumor on his adrenaline gland. I allowed X-rays to confirm if it were so. They found two small ones, so I was told. And an operation followed to remove them. (The tumors, I thought). 21 stitches later, Bucky came home, At this time I asked about his hair growth. "In due season," I was told. Now five-six months later, he seems no better, nor has his hair returned. He seems more dependent upon me than ever. (Of course he learned how to gain my attention from his youth when he suffered a fractured hind leg.)
His activity is way down, as well as his appetite. One other symptom is that his reaction to a touch indicates his skin might be sensitive. I know he'ss getting on in years; comparatively speaking, he's about my age, (75).

Hi Robert,
Since Bucky's hair has not grown back after
his adrenal gland was removed back in July,
it is very likely that the remaining adrenal gland
is also overproducing hormones. Thus it is time
to either treat him medically or to do surgery to
remove the remaining adrenal gland.
Hope that helps,
Jerry Murray, DVM
