If using the tail, you might want to "rub" the tail for a little bit to
make sure the blood is really moving. I'm not a vet or Dr. but the Free
Style meter used to show a woman rubbing her forearm (on TV) before she
took a reading there. Apparently blood flow to the fingers is faster and
reads more accurately (I guess because they keep moving all the
time.) Please check with your vet and hope this helps.
