Subject: RE: [ferrethealth] Re: Ferret with extremely large abdominal tumor update
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

For those of you who don't remember me, I posted earlier this month
about how I thought my ferret, Komay, may have been dying. She wasn't
eating, drinking, or defacating. It turned out that the cause was the
increase in pred I was giving her.

Yesterday she had an ultrasound and what we thought was a tumor was
actually an enlarged spleen. Her adrenals and heart looked great and
she had no visible signs of any tumors.

My question is does pred make a slightly enlarged spleen larger? The
reason I ask is because before I started the pred her spleen was
slightly enlarged, now after a about a month of pred it is really
big. This increase in size is what made me and the vet think it was a
tumor that was growing at an alarming rate.

Thank you,

Sheryl
