Subject: [ferrethealth] Are we making matters worse in some cases?Re: all this diarreah and antibiotics
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Oh yes, we thought the same. At point both my friend and I said, 'look
maybe all these meds. are doing more harm than good.' W tried takeing
them off for a time. Some would be okay for a week or so. But in my
Winni's case ALL I knew was she got better with Anti-biotics. Took her
off amoxil after almost 2 weeks. Then she relapsed. We did get Biaxin
(sp?). And it did seem to work much better. She also took it better.
And oh yeas we have gone the Pro-biotic way too. Yougert, stuff from
herbal stores containing probiotics. Nupro has a little. You name it.

What I found to hardest when faced with these questions is the fact
that we seek help from our Vets and all they know to do is put them on
more meds. I don't mean that in a bad way. But when you walk in and
present cases like these that is the first route they tend to go. It
what protocal says to do. And we NOT being vets feel like they know the
answers so ofcourse we fallow the instructions given. More Antibiotics.

I just want every ones ferrets to get better.
