Subject: [ferrethealth] 5 yr old ferret sick
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

My ferrets are about 5 years old. The male one got a jelly bean and
laid around for two days. We took him to the vet and they said he was
dehydrated. They gave him two shots and he was better for 3 or 4 days.
Now he is just laying around and won't eat or drink. We have been
force feeding him for about two weeks now. We are feeding him
"Marshalls Ferret Food" with water. We have tried duck soup but in
order to get any down him we have to use a syringe. He has had a tumor
on his tail and the vet said it was cancerous, they cut the tail off,
he has been fine since. The little one is still fine she is being her
normal self. How many times a day should I try to feed him and what
should I try to feed him? What can I do? I do not have the money to
take him to the vet again, that would be another $100 and I don't have
it and the vet does not know that much about ferrets. We live in a
small town and he is the only vet here. I really need your help.
Thanks so much if you can guide me.
