We have a 2 1/2 yr old male that was diagnosed with a very severe heart
murmur at age 3 months. The vet did surgery then to neuter him b/c he
didn't want to wait until he got older and the murmur got worse. We were
told to watch his behavior...if he ran out of energy or get breathless
or pass out. The vet has only heard one other ferret with a murmur this
bad and that one did make it but to almost 2 yrs old. This fellow has no
idea he is sick and has a problem! He goes non stop when awake, totally
full of energy. He has not shown any of the above problems so we don't
treat him in anyway at this time.
