Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: ferret lower back pain??? HELP
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

My inclination is to think spinal injury or possibly lymphoma in the spinal cord as among
the possibilities. Insulinoma is possible.

Prednisolone is used for any of those. (Definitely want to run those sugar levels, though,
esp. in case the opposite (diabetes) is present.

Pain meds can also become important if it is lymphoma. Certainly, rest and confinement if
injury.

It would pay to check the urine for infection or crystals as well as concentration, I think,
since this could be a urinary tract problem.

A CBC with Chemistry Panel (not just as CBC by itself) make sense.
