Subject: Re: [ferrethealth] Question: reaction to anesthesia
To: <ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com>

Ulrike and Sukie are probably right, that the adverse reactions that lasted for several days could have been due to other problems and not the anesthesia, although after the operation the vet said that it was taking him an unusually long time to come out of the anesthesia. But the lingering effects were probably caused by other things. I have come to believe that Neo had a lot more wrong with his pancreas than just regular insulinoma, due to the aggressiveness of it and the fact that he only lived about 6 weeks after the operation, never regaining normal BG levels, or even close to normal. The large nodule that was removed from the pancreas was called 'red and angry-looking' by the vet, although a biopsy came back negative. Anyway, the anesthesia may very well not have been the culprit in this case.
