Please also keep in mind ferrets DO need pain management. I had one that
nearly died from the pain. I did not get pain meds for home. Now I know
better. Everyone gets pains meds from any sort of abdominal surgery for at least
72 hrs...or until they seem to move around find and are not uncomfortable.

My Loki that died of lymphoma had pain meds before they woke her and for her
time in hospital as well as at home. She was up eating kibble and drinking
water the next day. She looked for her food even though she was still
sleepy. This was for a very large spleenectomy that was riddled full of cancerous
tumors.
