Subject: [ferrethealth] Reaction to Anesthesia

Several months ago we brought our blind ferret Jesse in for dental work;
cleaning and extractions. She suffered a cardiac arrest after the
anesthesia and after unsuccessful CPR we made the decision to let her go
to the bridge. Many of our 14 ferrets have had anesthesia (Isoflurane)
for one reason or another and they have all done well with uneventful
recoveries. Jesse's case was tragic, and the cause of death will remain
unknown. We miss her but as usual we adopted another shelter ferret in
her honor.
