Subject: [ferrethealth] My ferret is sneezing and kind of coughing?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I have a new little albino ferret and she's about 3 months old and
I've noticed she's been sneezing a bit and I think COUGHING, but
that's not something I'm sure of. I'm really scared that with the
clutter in my room that she's been exposed to some allergens and
whatnot, and now I feel SO GUILTY for her maybe being sick :( So I'm
going to get her some vitamins and her 'normal' food tomorrow... I ran
out for a few days and fed her some, GASP, CAT FOOD! I feel like a
terrible 'mother' right now... But she's still active and fun as
usual, just with a little sneeze here and there. Oh, her name is
'Bailey,' and she's also a terrible THIEF. No one can leave their
purses in the floor anymore because she STEALS WALLETS... And
candybars! Which, no, I've not let her eat! There was this one time
though that she stole a marshmallow 'Take 5' from a grocery bag and
got it under my bed before I could get to her. She ate HALF of one,
and she's OK, but it scared me to death! She's a terrible little
SNEAK. I love her though, and I try really hard to make sure she
doesn't steal food anymore!

Oh, and I swear to you, she didn't learn from ANYONE to go after
purses and wallets! She can drag a 6 lb. purse across the room and I
don't think she's even a POUND yet! I don't know where she learned
it! (She's a 'Marshall' ferret... I wonder if THEY taught her that! lol)

If anyone else has had this problem, the sneezing, not the STEALING
lol, please tell me your experience. I'm a first-timer and I really
need some tips. I love my Bailey more than anything :( She's the
closest thing to a little baby that I think I'll ever have and I don't
want to lose her to something silly like her stealing a Special K bar
out of my purse and eating it! :( Or for a little cold! Hope someone
can help... Thank you!

-Alli, 18
