Something I haven't been able to find out yet is how quickly this
contaminant works and how much contaminated feed is necessary to
kill or sicken the animal consuming it.

I know our cat succombed to renal failure, but the vet wouldn't
attribute it to the contaminated feed even though we retreived 13
empty packets that were labelled on the recall list from our trash
bins for that week.

How long had we been feeding this product? No one knows.

The menu foods site doesn't specify how long it took the test
animals to succomb.

So for those of us buying live prey - how long do we wait to use
these animals for feeding?

I know what I feed to these animals waiting for dinner invitations.
But if they have already been fed a contaminated product - will it
eventually be flushed from their system if they haven't succombed,
or will it remain in their tissues?

Will we be looking at a reenactment of the DDT issue from years ago?
When birds of prey were not reproducing healthy eggs because of a
build up of DDT within them from eating their prey animals that had
ingested or been exposed to DDT?

My guess is that only time will tell, because IF there are actually
logs or verifications of quantity & timelines regarding the
contaminant, they will never be admitted to.
