I would really get this ferret tested for Irritable Bowel Disorder as soon as you can, i.e. when he's healthy enough for a biopsy. I would also get him to a vet asap to assess whether he's dehydrated or malnourished, and whether you need supportive care at this time.

Last week I lost a ferret to complications arising from his IBD--essentially we hadn't realized that prednisone was no longer controlling the IBD and perhaps hadn't been for a couple of weeks (this fact was masked by one of his regular flare-ups of bacterial overgrowth), so I am all too well aware right now of what can happen to a case of IBD left untreated. Biopsies are scary but they are much better than the alternative.
