Andrea,

Have you tried offering him warmed water?

As gross as it may be to some people, my little Josie drinks my
saliva or gets a drink from my mouth after I've sipped some water
and "warmed" it in my mouth. She was VERY young when the pet store
sold her and I let her do this as a kit because it seemed to offer
her some comfort.

I have continued to allow her this small comfort even now that she
is a year old.

Josie rarely ever drinks cold water unless we've been outside for
awhile and then she likes to lick off the condensation from her
freezer bottles. Then she'll get more water from my mouth. But pour
that same water in her dish and she refuses it! Silly ferret!

The cold water may bother him, try warming it.

Regards, JosiesMom
