Subject: [ferrethealth] vomiting
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
At this point I would bring him right to the vet and have an xray, and if still suspicious- ie. still vomiting or other just weak, lethargic- exploratory surgery. I mention the later, because xrays and even barium studies can still miss a foreign body and you may have to go on just exam and suspicion. Unfortunately, foreign bodies in ferrets are all too common, especially in younger ferrets. AND the only sign can be just find your ferret lethargic, even death if left untreated. I had one with a perforated intestine, so I tend to be very very cautious. Don't wait, bring to the vet now- better than middle of the night. Hopefully he has vomited it up or will pass it.
Good Luck,
