Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: introducing new ferrets
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Jess,

I have done the same but the ferrets were closer in age but Simon took
Schuster and dragged him around for a while and under furniture. Now
almost five years later Schuster who is the most laid back ferret
anyone has ever met is the alpha male of the pack of five boys and one
girl and I feel as long as no blood is being drawn I let them all play
as rough as they like. At first when a new fuzzie is introduced to
the pack they do pick on him never Sasha for a while and I might break
them up but it always stopped. I don't know how long you have your
second one, the girl now, but it is difficult when a "loner" is
introduced because I had that problem with the last ferret, Puck. He
was adopted and was almost two and was raised with dog, cats, and bird.

It took a good week before he was not "picked" on so aggressively and
just became on of the family. Good Luck, and the books are usually
correct.
