Are you certain the infections were a result of the cleaning and not
the cause of the cleaning? The ferrets may be able to smell an
infection starting and be trying to heal you.
But to discourage them from ding that try wiping your ears with white
vinegar, or phooey.
Josie washes my face, I gues she doesn't get to my ears because of my
long hair.
I consider it an honor that she considers me a "litter mate". But in
your case, you may want to redirect their affections.
