For anyone interested a huge number of studies exist on avian influenzas, their treatments,
and their vaccines using ferrets as the subject animals. There are or have been some
members who have adopted ferrets used in the development of vaccines for less dangerous
strains of avian influenza.
This does NOT mean that the meds will be available for use FOR ferrets because a shortage is
anticipated if a world-wide pandemic happens.
