Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: adrenal ferret itchy skin
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I offer Josie straight plain lard free choice. She isn't adrenal and
is natural prey fed, but my reading revealed the normal ferret's need
for a high fat content in their diet. So I scoop about two tablesponns
into a seashell and leave this in her free access cage.

No, she has never carted the shell off to a stash spot and only the
first time that I set it out for her did she gourge herself. Now she
goes through about two tablespoonfuls every week to two weeks.

Yep, just plain, unsalted white lard.

Hope this helps!
Regards, JosiesMom
