It is entirely possible that none of this is working and that the symptoms have "returned" and are worse than before because he may now be adrenal from a tumor on the OTHER side from the one that was removed. It's not uncommon-I have had three that have become symptomatic again and have had adrenal tumors on their opposite sides within a year or less of their first surgeries; I had one with two nasty-looking tumors that we took care of in the same surgery. Post-op these guys usually need to be supplemented, at least temporarily right after surgery and again anytime they are exposed to stressful situations or any situation out of the ordinary (i.e. boarding, travel, introduction to a new ferret, any change in their schedule or environment, etc.).
I would recommend further testing such as a Tennessee panel to see if the other side is now involved. I would also question whether perhaps the first tumor was possibly not completely excised as another possibility...
Best of luck,
April (vet tech and ferret owner)
