I think I'd find a second vet. Doesn't make sense that a vet would
recomend Euthanasia for a thriving ferret. IF that is the only skin
anomaly, then I'd seek a more in depth answer as to what it is, or
could be.

Seems like a skin biopsy at the very least would elicit a protocol
to follow.
