The owner needs to check to see if the growth is limited to the skin
layer or if it is anchored to tissue below. It appears like a
sebaceous epithelioma, from the picture, but without removal and
pathology, it's just a guess.

If it is free from underlying tissues (moveable), it should be a
quick
and simple procedure to remove it. I have had compromised ferrets
that
did well with surgery if the ferret is kept warm, hydrated and
Isofluorane is used for the anesthesia. I'm not a vet, and only a
vet
can make the call, but if the ferret was mine, I would be headed for
a
vet that would be comfortable assessing the overall health of the
ferret and willing to remove it if at all possible. The ferret will
be
immensely more comfortable.

My vets have have removed quite a few tumors that look very similar
to
this, and they are quick and pretty simple to 'fix' as long as they
don't involve underlying tissue.
