I only know for certain that Josie has had two distemper shots and
one rabies shot. My vet made a comment when I questioned him giving
both those vaccinations at the same time, that he usuallu will see a
reaction on the third or fourth innoculation.
So of course, I am now PRE-worrying about that! But I think I will
insist she get two seperate visits for her next year's series.
I don't mind making an extra trip if it will mean less of an insult
to Josie. She was so lethargic and hot after this last vaccination
that I don't think she needs that kind of stress again.
Who knows? Maybe by then ferrets can get a three year rabies like
cats and dogs in Florida!
It is cause for concern in my mind when the vet KNOWS there is a
high incidence of reactions after the third innoculation, yet
continues to give them. OF course - I guess then it becomes a matter
of law and the heck with what happens to the animal, eh?
