Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Ingesting estrogen from prey?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Thank! that's some interesting stuff!

especially about the ferrets during anestrous not showing predatory
behavior! Wonder how they survive in the wild if they don't hunt?
Do they live off their stashes during that phase?

by that particular study Josie hadn't ought to be showing a
predatory nature. Or because she has been spayed there is no actual
estrus/anestrous cycle and she is now androgneus?

Wonder what was the size of their study base? were they studying
pole cats or Black footed ferrets?

I was curious because I see frommyreceipts that she has eaten more
male mice lately than female mice (petco rings them up seperately).
If her body can utilize the mammalian estrogens from the mice, I'll
gladly see that she gets them with a few males interspersed.

Is it safe to assume that because humans can utilize pingested pill
forms of estrogen replacement, that digestion does NOT destroy
bioavailability of this hormone?

Regards, JosiesMom
