Flutamide works to coat the prostate thereby preventing testosterone from binding with receptors on the prostate causing it to swell and block off the bladder. I have a 4 1/2 year old hob that has been on it for several months now (o.4cc orally, twice daily). My vet instructed me on how to give the medication by syringe. The vet also makes up the solution for me (I believe flutamide is a pill that needs to be broken up and put in solution). I'm not a vet; but that's how my vet explained it to me.

The vet prescribed him 5 mg of Finasteride. Can anyone tell me is it
safe to give him 5 mg of propecia? The vet said that the literature
said she can go as high as 5 mg but we agreed to just give him 1 mg.
Help!!!

The reason I ask you is because the receptionists give everyone a very
hard time about having a vet call the client back and I'm sure they
especially don't like me with how often I've been bugging them about
Mojave and trying to get a diagnosis.

Thank you,

Sheryl

p.s. I'm not sure but I think it may have been Flutamide she suggested.
The name sounds right. Does anyone have any information on this drug?
