Anitta,
Just re-read your eamil and realized I did not address
some of your specific questions.

Limiting contact between ferrets is probably the best
prevention. Also make sure you use and have available
an antibiotic cleaner specifically active against
Mycobacterium. I know from experience that many are
not.

I'm not sure why you would limit ear mite treatment as
long as each animal was treated individually, the
cleaning swabs are disposed of correctly, and the area
and treating persons hands are disinfected between
ferrets.

Again, from my experience the risk is very low, but
it's always better to be safe than sorry. Also, if
this happens again I can give you the medicine
protocol we used to extend my ferret's life.
