Besides the frozen water bottles and ziploc baggies of ice ( these
are great because they freeze flat and let the ferret lay on them).
You can get a couple battery operated fans and a solar powerd fan or
two.

I have a "D" cell operated fan and a cigarette lighter fan in the
truck, then a smaller battery fan when we go out on the bike.

Put a frozen bottle in front of the fan and voila! A mini A/C unit!

Besides frozen bottles and baggies and fans, when Josie goes with me
on rounds I also take just water bottles - she doesn't like cold
water to drink so keeping her hydrated with room temp water helps!

I also keep an umbrella in the truck which would work great for
offering shade - I'll have to get a fold up one for the motorbike.

AS long as Josie chooses to sleep curled up with her nose tucked I
know she is cool enough. If she starts to sleep sprawled out on her
back then I up the cool factor ( lower the temp ) for her.

Supirisingly, often times she'll climb on the dash board or the door
panel to lay in the sun beaming through the window!

The motorbike carrier is big enough to let her sprawl if she has to,
if she stretches out on her belly, I don't worry, but watch for her
to stay sprawled and roll over on her back - this position seems to
be her indicator that she is getting warm as she never sprawls out at
home.

Take along some vittles too or make time to stop and get some.

Don't forget to bring along the rabies tag, leash, harness and a way
to carry the ferret away from public eyes and fingers!

Josie is a very friendly ferret and loves to explore and greet new
people, but a trip to a restaurant, grocery or retail store requires
her to be placed in her satchel. This keeps her safe with me and safe
from prying eyes or poking fingers.

If you need emergency transport - they'll be much more amenable to
transporting your friend if it is inside and enclosure, sometimes no
amount of reassurance the ferret IS friendly will assuage their fears
then you might be waiting much longer for a ride!

Hope this helps! JosiesMom
