Subject: [ferrethealth] chronic seedy poop...what do I feed?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
My 1 yr old female Izzy always has seedy stool. Her stool is not runny, or mucousy, and is
formed, but it always has a seedy appearance to it. I know this is a sign og improper
digestion of fats and starches. I am currently trying different kibble diets for her to see if that
makes any difference...for a while I had her on natural balance venison and green pea, but
that was recalled. When she was on that, there was a definate improvement in her stool
quality. I try to offer her baby food (beef...she has thrown up after recieveing dehyrdated
chicken treats before, so I think she has a chicken allergy) as a bland food choice, but she
just does not seem to be interested in it. She also is not interested in uncle Jim's duck soup
as a paste, though if I sprinkle it on her food, she likes it. That appears to help a little bit.
Does anyone have any suggestions on a food option? I had her on Hill's feline z/d before. Her
stool volume decreased, but still appeared seedy. now she is on a mx of z/d and original
natural balance. still seedy. Any suggestions? Izzy is an otherwise healthy and a very happy
little girl. Just seedy poo. I just want to take care of this before it becomes a problem.
