Well, it can NOT be assumed that extra nutrients are better, or that megadosing one alone
won't throw the needed nutrient balance all off.
A recent very large study of prostate cancer in humans found that the men with prostate
cancer already who took multivitamins were twice as likely to die of the prostate cancer as
those who also had prostate cancer but did not take multivitamins. The hypothesis is that
the malignant cells were better at utilizing the nutrients than normal cells.
Certainly, humans who are going to get radiation treatment for some types of hormonal
malignancies are told to decrease their intake of Vitamin C because some malignancies take
it up preferentially and it can actually shield them from the radiation treatments.
My take: before trying a supplement approach to a malignancy have a vet oncologist
consulted.
