Subject: [ferrethealth] Saying goodbye to Jeebus

Thank you again to everyone who sent messages and posted in response
to my question about knowing when to say goodbye. We said goodbye to
Jeebus on Saturday afternoon at our vet's. He was very calm in the
morning, got a little more playtime in with his friend Lily, and even
enjoyed some (long-forbidden after the insulinoma diagnosis) peanut
butter and banana. It was obvious once we got to the vet's office that
he was letting us know that he was done. I held him the entire time,
with our vet agreeing that this was the right decision for our little
bub. He fell asleep very quickly and for the first time in at least
two weeks, he breathed easily.
This has been incredibly hard for me as Jeebus was my first pet, first
bub ever and was with me for some really rough times as well as some
very happy times. We will miss him but will also remember how he used
to make us laugh and smile.
Lily seems to be doing well. She was there in the vet's office and
gave Jeebus some kisses, as if she was trying to help him feel better.
She's looked around for him a few times at home, but she's actually
helping us out more than she knows.
Many, many thanks again to everyone for their support and
encouragement to us during this difficult time. Kisses to all your bubs.
