Lynne,
I'm glad you found out his problem, and can work around it. :)
I would say if you have to feed him 'mush' for him to thrive
comfortably, then take peculiar care of his teeth reguarding his soft
diet.

arthritis in the jaw (both sides). He hasn't been able to open his
mouth fully for several days but is eating softened kibble and is on
Metacam and a 3 wk round of baytril. Apparently he has had a very
severe ear infection at one time (he is a rescue) before we got him
and it has done some damage. This was diagnosed by xrays and my vets
have never heard of it in a ferret. He (ferret) will be 4 yrs old on
the 10th of June. I guess what I am asking is - has anybody ever
heard of this and is there anything more I can give him to make him
comfortable?
