I am not a vet. If you know a diabetic, perhaps you can borrow his/her
meter and do a blood glucose on your ferret. If it is 200 or more it may
be diabetes. If I was suspicious from the symptoms you see, I'd take it
to a good vet. Diabetes is rare in ferrets, but it is not unknown
