Yes. A diabetic style meter is a great idea. But the readings on a ferret will be different
than on a human. It would be a good idea, if you don't know exactly how to adjust for you
particular meter and ferret, to get one for future use and bring one with you when you go
to the vet, then take your own reading at the same time the vet does the blood test. That
way you'll be able to do your own monitoring in the future and know how to adjust the
figures.
