Subject: [ferrethealth] Melatonin dose

I have been using Natrol Melatonin 1 mg for the ferrets but it is now
discontinued by both Wal-Mart and Walgreens. They now carry the 3 and
even 5 mg. I found it is available at Drugstore .com at an inflated
price to cover the "free" shipping.
Question- If I get the 3 mg and split them in half is the dose of 1.5 mg
too much? It would be iffy to try to split the powdered tablet into 3
parts.
