You cannot tell the age of adult ferrets by the condition of their
teeth, as teeth can be dramatically affected by feeding and living
conditions. I have seen young ferrets with practically no teeth and 12
year olds with a near perfect full set. Poor feeding or sickness as a
young kit can ruin a ferrets teeth for the rest of its life. I handle
hundreds of ferrets each year ADV testing and helping the vet Jill Jab
club ferrets so I can tell by their records how old the ferret is I'm
handling and believe me teeth are no indication of age.
