Subject: [ferrethealth] Ferret Being Groomed Too Much?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

This is a wierd situation that I see and wonder about...

One of my male ferrets, the largest of the group, but a real sweetheart... everyone grooms him. I mean, when he wants to sleep in the hammock, one of the other ferrets (never more than one at a time, but all different ferrets) climbs in with him and grooms him to the point that he gets disgusted and leaves. They don't groom any particular spot particularly (i.e. his ears aren't dirty, or anything like that). And he's so patient, that it usually takes like 5-10 minutes for him to get upset enough to leave. This has been ongoing for months, and I'm just curious about it.

Could there be something wrong with him that is causing this behavior in the others? Or is it just a social thing?

Debbie
