My first thought on this one is a blockage that is not complete at this point.
Another of the possibilities if the runny nose is extreme enough and there are other
respiratory problems (which are often hidden in ferrets) is infection, esp. influenza.
WHAT was the temperature? Ferrets NORMALLY are 101 to 102 degrees F, and if nervous can
go up to 103 ' and still be okay.
