The behavior didn't start recently, but we added 3 new ferrets to our group, and they have continued it. Prior to that, it was our two "geriatric" ferrets who both have adrenal problems (under treatment, not surgery, unfortunately), so we thought the issue was with them, not with the one BEING groomed. But the 3 youngsters all groom this one poor guy, too. Which is not to say that they never groom each other. It just seems excessive with him, so I wondered.

He certainly could have something going on medically to cause them to do this. Has this behavior just started recently? Sometimes they can tell something's wrong when we can't. It's probably worth having him vet checked and having some bloodwork done to rule out any problems, such as adrenal disease, cancers, etc... Not to scare you.

Best,
