Actually, I adopted a ferret only 7months old with a lot of plaque on his teeth - they were
literally brown! I fed him kibble for months, hoping that the kibble would 'clean his teeth"
or at least prevent more build-up.

The kibble did absolutely nothing for his teeth and I was considering getting his teeth
cleaned but my vet said I'd be best to get him eating prey and RMB otherwise the plaque
would come straight back on.
So I finally switched him on to prey and the plaque has actually gone from his teeth.
I no longer need to get his teeth cleaned, which I am very happy about.

I don't think a ferrets age is really relevant (my ferret was only 7months) - I believe it's the
diet that is the important factor in the health of my ferrets teeth.

(i wish I had taken pictures of his teeth to show the difference!)
