The best way to give Carafate is to skip the caplets and get the very inexpensive liquid
version which pretty much all pharmacies and an increasing number of vets carry.
If you can't do that then do NOT crush the caplet. Carafate is designed to have water move
through capillaries in the caplet so it is designed to bloom when placed into water. I don't
know how long it keeps in that condition so check with your compounding pharmacist.
