Subject: [ferrethealth] Bacteria advice needed from vet and experienced people please!
To: <ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com>

Hello. Once again, our shelter has a kid with crazy bacteria issues. This
poor kid has Pasturella, Peptostreptococcus AND Bacteroides Fragilis. He
also has severe insulinoma, had a partial and still the tissue left behind
was as diseased as the tissue taken out. He's been on Antirobe (Clyndamycen)
on and off for almost 2 years and it's not cleared up. We've pulled some bad
teeth, done flushes and still his little head swells up huge every couple
months. Our vets are at a loss.

We've ALWAYS been able to clear up bacterial infections of this nature in
the past, Harley "Bug" being our first with Actinomyces and a whole slew of
other things. I'm wondering if this kid is having a harder time because of
the severe insulinoma issues. All the other ferrets with either gram pos or
gram neg bacteria had no other health issues and were curable.

Any advice? Should we give up?
