Yes, but I was thinking that what created the bundle
possibly would be some aspects of the stomach's contractions.
Evolutionarily, it is intriguing, posing the question whether
it is just a side effect entirely or whether perhaps there
was specific selection, and if so then if there are individuals
who are not as good at parts of the equation. Such individuals
might be more prone to being unable to pass furballs, for
instance. In such a case it could be very old or could be a
parallel evolution situation. Also, I ahve to wonder if fine
feather fibers behave in the same way as fur.
