By now you have probably already been to or contacted the vet unless you are in a very
different time zone than us.

The following questions relate to one of the most dire causes of vomiting with lethargy as
well to as to some added possibilities, so they may not apply to your little one, but for
safety's sake it is always important to make sure that extreme causes are not present.

Is the ferret able to drink?

Is the ferret able to eat?

Is the ferret able to pass feces?

If so, what is the condition of the feces?

Are the gums pale?

Is the ferret well hydrated? If not, the gums will be tacky and the skin may tent too readily,
so find out if the vet wants you to try getting in fluids or if the vet wants to see the ferret
first.

Should the ferret not be drinking or eating then the ferret needs vet care today, preferably
as soon as possible today. Should the ferret not be passing feces the same things applies,
ditto black and tarry feces being passed, dehydration being present, gums pale, and a
number of other signs which I am sure that astute FHL members will add. If you have to
scramble for an emergency appointment then you just do; we all know how that is.

There are many possible causes of vomiting with lethargy, from infection, to food
poisoning, to eating something that should not have been eaten, to...

Best of luck to you and your little one. I hope it is just one of the gentle possible causes
and that your ferret is already on the mend.
