Subject: [ferrethealth] Medicine problems
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

My ferret Lua is 6 years ( we are in France) and she has a pneumonia.
She has been prescribed corticoid (named microsolone), Baytril(15 mg,
a half a day) and Therios 60 Felin (Cefalexin 60 mg, a half twice a
day). My ferret is just 600 gr, it looked to me overdosed but after
asking the vet he said its ok. After giving therios and baytril, 30
min from each other, Lua was starting to act like drunk, laying on a
side and another, it didnt look like she was hurt, she seemed
confused, her breath which is already difficult due to the pneumonia,
was getting worse and she was hot, it all disappeared after 20 min. Is
this an allergy to the medicines? I tried Therios in lower dose, she
didnt react. I have doubts about the Baytril, i reduced the dose too
but she seemed to breath loudler after it. What should i do???, my vet
said to me to continue the treatment, I dont feel like doing about the
baytril. Reducing the dose could it make the pneumonia not be healed?
Is it bad for her in the process of being healed if i stop the Baytril?
