That may not be his "umbilical bump" on his belly. Especially since
he is a boy. What you are likely seeing is his genetalia. Which very
much resembles a "belly button" on the boy ferrets.

I got my ferret as a very young kit (5weeks old) and although she is
a female, there was no umbilical bump, or visible signs of surgery
from spaying.

SO I'd be willing to bet your umbilical bump is not what you are
thinking.
