You did give us any info as to what you are feeding these kits,
but by the description you are having metabolic bone disease
from a diet that is too low in calcium and too high in phosphorous.
Thus a calcium and vitamin D supplement is needed asap!
It would also be a good thing to feed a high quality kitten food
such as Iams kitten or Eukanuba kitten or order one of the good
ferret foods on-line.
Cogential heart defects are the same in ferrets kits as they would
be in puppies or kittens, so it was most likely a heart defect along
with the nutritional problems in the kit that passed away.
