Hi John,

Sukie informed you well and I thank her for that. I am starting to gather up the info you all gave
me and feeling more enlightened.
I really don;t have the keep the jill separated from the kits, because she is already separated by...
herself. She shows no interest in the kits, except for smelling them once a day. The rest of the time,
she stays away. The animals are kept inside, in my apartment.
I am feeding the kits separately now, after the surgeries. Not all the 10 kits were operated, just 3 of them, who could barely walk. The other 6 (one of them died, as I already told you, by heart failure)
are quite ok. They dont walk perfectly, like normal ferrets, but they are close to being normal.
Should I also give them the same amounts of Ca as the ones who are in more severe condition?
As I responded to another person who wrote to me as well, the vet told me to stop Calcium intake, as one of the kits had some deposits of Ca on the extremity of the thighbone. What do you think about that? Even so, as a paradox, they are still weak and the bone are still jelly type.

I am not a breeder, just a simple owner of ferrets. I have a jill, she gave birth to these little kits that I intended to offer them to my friends. Now that they have these problems, I had to keep them, because nobody wants a damaged animal. That is not a problem, I love them and I will do everything for them to be happy and sane.
I am interested to get your book, but how can I have access to it? As far as I know, I cannot buy
it online as shippings to Romania are not being made (unfortunatelly, this country has a negative image abroad...maybe some of the reasons are real, but even those without fault must carry this stigma)
I cannot say if this procedure of performing surgeries on the bone is widely spread because ferrets are not spread here, as pets. It's an exotic animal for us...I personally know less than 10 people who own ferrets in our country.
I will try to control their weight, by decreasing it slowly.
Thank you an any other advice is welcome,

Roxana
