Subject: Re: [ferrethealth] Masses amount of blood in poop
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I am not a vet, but have had some experience with the insulinoma and the
bloody poo. My vet felt that is either a Gastric ulcer or Helicobactor.
Nearly 100% of ferrets with clinical illness are naturally infected with
this organism. This is just a thought, when their health is compromised and
along with taking Pred. (which can harsh on their bellies) ulcer tend to pop
up. Its always good to use carafate in these situations.
